Baby Mia update!

Today I am 20 weeks. halfway there! I am feeling good for the most part, just not sleeping well at all. Between getting up to use the bathroom, trying to get comfy, and one very active little girl, I'm exhausted. Guess I should get used to it, ha!

We had an ultrasound this morning and all looks well! she is happy and healthy and a thumb sucker!

So cute!
She weighs 12 oz and I think she looks just like her older sister did when she was that age in my belly.
Also, My cervix is still nice and long which is great news! we have our next appointment at 24 weeks, and then I'll be seen at 26 weeks also, since that is when the preterm labor started with Lily.  I am just so grateful knowing I have two healthy daughters. Can't ask for more than that!

Just for fun that is Lily on the top at 18 weeks 5 days and Mia on the bottom ( why am I not smart enough to make them side by side?! oh well.) at 20 weeks. Same nose and mouth!

Baby number 2 update! ITS A ....

Whew.. with all that has been going on I have neglected to update about our little bean on the way!

on Friday I had an ultrasound to check the length of my cervix, we are monitoring this closer this time since Lily was trying to hard to come early. We want to avoid pre term labor again if possible. GOOD NEWS my cervix hasn't shortened at all which is a great sign! I was so relieved. They also spent a few minutes showing me Lily's little sister.. yes that's right

IT'S A GIRL!!!

We are SO excited. Me and Mike were both rooting for another baby girl. We wanted Lily to have a sister, since they will be so close in age. PLUS... can we say matching outfits! ha ha

here I am at 16 weeks

everything is going great, feeling good and getting some energy back. So excited to meet miss MIA ROSE this summer :)

Pregnancy update

I am glad to say that I have been feeling great so far in this pregnancy. No throwing up (yet..) just exhausted all the time. Based on my LMP I was 8 weeks 2 days, however I had an ultrasound this morning and it turns out I am a lot earlier in the pregnancy. 5 weeks 1 day. I go back on the 16th for another ultrasound to get better measurements and a better look since I am still so early, but right now my due date is Aug. 8th 2010! I'll post some pics from my new ultrasound when it comes up, that way you'll actually be able to see something, ha!

prematurity awareness day

Today is prematurity awareness day.

Lily was born just hours After I turned 37 weeks and I am thankful everyday that we made it that far and that she made it to full term. I first when into Labor the day I turned 26 weeks. That was definitely a curve ball that I NEVER expected. After a week long hospital stay I was sent home on bed rest. I contracted daily and went back into labor at 33 weeks 6 days. Thankfully, it was again stopped. They have no idea why I went into labor, I had no infections, and everything else about my pregnancy was normal. I was shocked that it happened to me, things like that happen to other people, but not me. Going through preterm labor opened my eyes. 1 in 8 babies are born too early, and too small. It really can happen to anyone. This is definitely a cause close to my heart and I pray daily for the families I know who are experiencing the crazy whirlwind of premature babies.

It's really bad lighting, but this is the night before I went into labor. I was 25 weeks 6 days.

Fears have been creeping in.

I Love being a mother. I am positive that I'll never accomplish anything bigger in my life then carrying, birthing and raising Lily. Having Lily has re- introduced me to the love, I always knew I had for children. Me and Mike have been chatting about when the best time to have a second baby is. Yes , Lily is only  7 months, it'll be a year or so before we decide to go for number 2, but I want my children to be pretty close in age.

So as me and mike have been talking about this, I'm getting really nervous about the prospect of another pregnancy. I loved being pregnant, and am excited about doing it again, however, Mine wasn't what I thought it was going to be. Every one has a vision of what it will be like for them and I was sure I'd have an easy going pregnancy, after all, it's what my body is made to do, right? My reality was so far off from my vision. Fighting off preterm labor for 10 weeks was not part of the pregnancy I was going to have. I am so thankful to God for allowing Lily to make through our 36th week, but here's where the fears start... What if the next doesn't wait that long. I went into labor for the first time with lily at 26 weeks. it took 5 days to stop it, but they did stop it. What if  it happens again, and they can't. I don't know if i could handle delivering my baby and it not making it, or going through months of NICU life. Of course I would, and would just be thankful for anytime I'd have with my future baby, but I am so terrified about the what ifs involved in having another baby. We we're so lucky with Lily, I truly believe bed rest made such a difference in my contractions, and labor. But how can I do bed rest with a toddler?! Lily will be running around and needing my attention, Mike will have to work, so how do I manage both?? I pray that when we decide to have another baby Things will go smooth and that the pre term labor with Lily was just a fluke, and it wont happen with the next, but it's something I'm very worried about.

I Know deep down it's silly to worry. After all, God is in control and I trust him with my future. For years I was told that I'd be lucky to even get pregnant so I know God is working miracles in my Life. It's so apparent when I look at Lily. Every now and then I just need to vent some fears.

Pregnancy

Here I am.. making my grand entrance into the world of blogging.

Life has been amazing, crazy, sleepless, joyful and so exciting since our Lily has arrived. I am still in shock that she will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. I still feel like I am pregnant, it all happened so fast. I really wish I would have just slowed down and enjoyed my pregnancy a little better. I was so busy counting down the weeks until I could meet Lily that I forgot how wonderful pregnancy was. I rushed through it and I'll never get those moments back. We will have more children, so I know i'llget to expirence pregnancy again, but not Lily's pregnancy.

After years of worry about infertility, due to endometriosis, I never thought we would be able to get pregnant so quickly. When it happened I was so happy, then when pre term labor followed by bed rest happened at 26 weeks, that is when I began the countdown. My goal was to just make it one more week, then another week, and another after that. and before i knew it I was 37 weeks and she was here! having her here has been the best few weeks of mine, and Mike' life. But I find myself wishing I enjoyed her growing inside me for just a little longer.
